Foggy Day

Happy Cloudy Tuesday, everyone!

As some of you may know, me and hubby both work from home.  Our schedules are far from normal, but this gives us the privilege to spend more time with our li'l boy.  We all have days when we feel really lazy, and for most of you, it'd either be a Saturday or a Sunday.  For me, though, its today, Tuesday.  Blame it on a very hectic Monday.  I have a report to submit every Monday, and the procrastinator in me like finishing it the very same day.  So when Tuesday comes, my brain just shuts down.  It's like its telling me its on its day-off.  Oh well.  LOL!

By the way, Newsroom's third episode aired last Sunday and will be watching it in a few.  The story just keeps getting better and better!

And oh, remember the dual-monitor I mentioned in my previous post.  Sadly, one of 'em died on me last night. :(  I'm still gonna ask my brother if this is but temporary and can be fixed, or if hubby and I already need to bury and part with it forever.  *sigh*

Sorry for the rambling, this really happens when my mind needs to be woken up.  Composing something forces it to work and with a dose of coffee, I'll be on work mode in a bit.  Hope Tuesday's going well for you! :)

TV: The Newsroom

When I work, I need something to keep me awake. Coffee is absolutely a must, but since I'm breastfeeding our li'l boy, I am limited to only 2 cups a day. (Sad, I know!) What keeps me up is watching a tv series on my other monitor. Since NCIS, NCIS: LA, Hawaii 5-0, Person of Interest and Body of Proof on a break till Fall, I needed to look for other TV Series to accompany me during my work hours. Enter HBO's newest series, The Newsroom

From the mind of Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and screenwriter of The Social Network and Moneyball, comes The Newsroom, a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. Focusing on a network anchor (played by Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), the newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel) and their boss (Sam Waterston), the series tracks their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements. - HBO
Firstly, the mere mention of Jeff Daniel's (IMDB) name is music to my ears. I absolutely love this guy! He is such a versatile and effective actor.

Secondly, HBO is really known for producing quality tv series and mini-series. (Hello, Sex and the City and Entourage?) So when I saw it online, I knew I just had to watch it. I initially saw only 2 episodes as the series just started airing about three weeks ago, June 24th to be exact, and it definitely did not disappoint. The acting is superb, the characters are just fab, and the storyline is fascinating!

And remember the guy who played the lead in the movie "Slumdog Millionaire"? He is part of this show as well.

If you are looking for more reasons why you should watch this series, here's another one: the show has earned decent ratings that HBO already renewed it for Season 2, shortly after the 2nd episode has been aired.

The Newsroom airs every Sunday, 10pm ET on HBO (US). The series has not been picked up yet by HBO Asia, but I am sure it will be soon. For now, you can try watching it online. :)
